Few occasions can really justify hiring your own designer but having a baby and coordinating the baby stationery to you wishes is one you might consider, if for no other reason than to reduce stress. So apparently baby boy birth announcements are the rage now. The ones that people are are really going bonkers for the letterpress baby announcements that look like a post card. Some of the cards have motifs of airplanes and trains, things that boys like but they area s acute as can be. Some of the nicest and least expensive ones are from Design Corral Based out of Richmond, Va. That outfit is headed up by Sue Corral, who is a well respected designer and founder of Page Stationery. Parents now have more selection than ever when it comes to selecting unique photo birth announcements. Not only is the selection much larger, the time to get the announcements printed has dramatically changed. Many studios and stationery stores offer same day service which was never possible even at a local print shop. You can design something while you wait right there with a designer and come back that afternoon and have it ready to go. So for something like baby announcements tat look even better when they have a photo on there it is a no-brainer to go local rather than wait 3-5 days for tiny prints or similar service. The pictures are clear as a bell and there is no waiting. There are literally hundreds of letterpress type faces, or fonts, available to our customers for use on letterpress wedding invitations, letterpress birth announcements and other printed matter. What on earth are we to do?
Some fonts have “feet”, or serifs. Others have no “feet”, or sans serif. Each conveys a different feeling or look.
