There are many new ideas for custom stationery in 2011. Of course the first issue is what type of stationery do you really need and what use is it for. This gets back to the type of printing either digital, engraving or letterpress. I for one believe that digitally printed custom stationery is just cheap and no matter what type of motif you have on there they just don’t work for me. Blah! If you are going to do it it should really be either engraved or letterpress printed because they look the nicest and are recognized as the nicest.
Letterpress I feel is even a stronger candidate because it provides a more diverse canvas to work with and is easier to find a quality printer. Well if you have not considered using custom stationery for your thank you notes after the holidays then there is barely still time to do so.
It gets crazy this time of year with everyone ordering christmas cards and holiday photo cards so there is hardly room for a custom printer to fit in personalized stationery for you to write your christmas thank you notes much less get all of their holiday orders out on time. It is therefore imperative that you plan ahead and order you stationery ahead of time, maybe even in August or early September when no one is even thinking of these things.
Personalized stationery also makes a great Christmas gift but for the same reasons don’t wait until the last minute to order it or you won’t have it in time for Christmas!

In some form or another letterpress stationery has touched us in some way. From its elegant design to the deep and formal impression it yields, it still remains one of the most important forms of communication today. Even in today’s world of technological advancements, it is somewhat ironic that letterpress printing has reemerged as the medium of choice for both designers, artisans and businessmen in spite of ipads and iphones with texting and emails and facebook integration on every site you find. I love all these new personal gadgets and efficient ways new ways of doing things and communicating but I also still like writing and receiving great looking personal letterpress stationary.
